Death Recorded in Muskegon County, number not shown on certificate Parts of letters written to Jane from her Aunt Elizabeth Gregson (Alice McCanns sister), living in Blackburn, England, probably from the 1940's. "I thought a lot of your father, he was a good sport. I use to work at the mill where he was an engineer." "Dear Janey, I wonder if you remember me. I went with you to Liverpool when you went to America. I stayed up with my sister all night before you went. The train left Blackburn at five o'clock in the morning so we got you up very early and washed and helped you dress and gave you all breakfast. I took you with one hand and Joe by the other. It was a sad morning for me. The train had only one carriage and a luggage van. There were only another family on it who were going to America. It was just getting light and about ten minutes before the train started your grandfather Nelson came to the Platform to bid you good bye. He looked so sad as you were his only daughters children. I felt so sorry for him. He was always my favorite uncle. I can see him now in his frock coat and silk hat. He was a very good and respected man. Your own mother was a gentle, sweet, woman, I was very fond of her. I spent a good many nights at your house while I nursed you and use to go in your house after tea and nurse for her(Clara) and wash the tea things. When your father had to work weekends I used to take his dinner on Sunday." "I often think about your dear mother. She used to take a lot more interest in me than my own sister. I shall never forget her telling me she had only a few months to live. I went to see her one night, it was summer time, and I went out of the front door, she went out the back and met me at the bottom of the back as I was going home and told me. I was very upset and I tried to comfort her. The doctor should not of told her but I suppose it had to be." "Your father was a love wasn't he? We are all very fond of him, he was gentle and kind and so soft hearted. I remember when he was here one day and someone was singing on the radio, "Sailing up the Clyde" and he broke down and cried. You probably know the song which ends, "There's a lump comes in your throat and a tear comes to your eye, when you're sailing back to Scotland and your aim fireside". Was in many plays including, The Irish Rebel. Marriage announcement Muskegon Chronicle(second marriage) Mrs. Jane Wilson weds C. A.
